About

Safe4Care AIR-2 is a high-end pressure distributing mattress incorporating new innovative open celled air-foam to secure heat and moisture transport away from the mattress core.

AIR-2 can be used both as a pressure distributing and as a standard foam mattress by just flipping it in the bed.

At the pressure relieving side the mattress is furnished with a 5 cm visco-elastic foam layer. A soft yellow ViscoSafe at the top and a medium pink ViscoSafe bellow, making it suitable for person weight up to 130 kg.

Due to the strength of our Safe4Care safe SAF foam it’s possible – by cutting – to create an open surface, thus significantly reducing the heat accumulation known to occur in dense foam materials.

At the standard side the mattress is furnished with 4 cm high quality 50 kg HR foam cut into squares, giving it a better all over performance.

Placed between the visco-elastic and HR foam layer is the innovative open celled “air-foam” transporting moisture and heat away from the mattress core.

Reversible, can be used with either side up:
– Yellow side provides excellent pressure relief.
– White side cut in squares provides an excellent
standard mattress surface when visco-elastic foam characteristics are not wanted.
Semi permeable Safe4Care-Flex cover with zipper on three sides. Either sewed or welded.
The cover is cleanable with most common disinfectants or it can be washed at 95° C.
The Safe4Care-Flex cover is available in a variety of colours.
The foam core can be washed at up to 95° C or autoclaved.
Perfect for use in Nursing or Hospital bed with three or four sectioned mattress support.

Application

Decubitus Prevention

The Safe4Care AIR-2 mattress is used for prevention of pressure sores and other kinds of skin damage caused by pressure and shear forces. Suitable for low, moderate and high risk patients. Bear in mind that a good pressure relieving mattress can not substitute repositioning routines and blood circulation stimulation.

Healing

Safe4Care AIR-2 mattress are also suitable as a support surface in connection with healing of pressure sores. Of course special consideration must be given to ensure total pressure relief of damaged skin areas during healing
